Judy Schoenbaum-Wood, 68, of Oak Park, died at home on May 17, 2012. Born on Sept. 11, 1943 to the late Matthew H. and Cecilia (nee Konzal) Schoenbaum, she was raised in River Forest and graduated from St. Luke School and Trinity High School. She received her B.A. in Literature and Philosophy from Loyola University Chicago. After almost 20 years of service, she retired from First United Church of Oak Park in 2011.

Her many interests included music, especially the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, the Beatles, literature, films, art, current events, public policy politics, theater (both as a performer in her young adult life and later as an audience member), museums in Chicago and any city she visited, and sports, especially baseball, tennis, and basketball.

Judy Schoenbaum-Wood is survived by her children, Nicole (John) Gates, Daniel Wood, Charles Wood, and Monica Wood; her grandchildren, Henry, Michael and Benjamin Gates; her siblings, Tom (Naomi Ikezawa) Schoenbaum, Ginny Hoover, Dorothy (Larry) Hamm, and John (Olga Rakich) Schoenbaum; and her many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband and dear friend, Robert W. Wood.

A memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. on May 25 at St. Luke Church, 528 Lathrop Ave., in River Forest. Interment will be private.
