The OPRF girls track and field team had three athletes compete in the Class 3A State Finals at Eastern Illinois University’s O’Brien Stadium in Charleston on Saturday.

Pole vaulter McKenzee Kroeschell led the group by finishing third in her event, and posting a new school record. The junior vaulted to a height of 12-feet, 3-inches. Kroeschell actually re-wrote the OPRF record books five times this season. Earlier in the season, she surpassed the 11-feet mark held by former Huskie Rachel Teitelbaum.

Erin Svhela finished 19th overall in the high jump with a final leap of 5-1, and freshman Hannah Gorin timed out in the 3200-meter run in 12:07.14 for 31st place.
