Now here’s an election anyone can get excited about. I just got my ballot from OneSeedChicago today for their urban greening project. 2012 is apparently been declared the Year of the Herb in these parts, and the candidates are Basil, Cilantro, and Chamomile.

All you need to do is vote for your favorite of the three listed herbs, and seeds of the winning plant will be mailed to all voters in the Chicago area. How cool is this?  I voted today, and although it was a difficult choice I wound up casting a ballot for my old pal Basil. I hope my candidate prevails, but there’s really no losers in this election. Which is more than I can say for the upcoming Primaries.
