Lauretta Schultz Regan Darre, 89, known best as “LALA” died peacefully in her sleep on Valentine’s Day, Feb. 14, 2012. Born in Fond Du Lac, Wisconsin to Laura and Fred Schultz, she attended Trinity High School in River Forest and Northwestern University. She was a member of Delta Delta Delta Sorority and majored in music. Among her many accomplishments, Lauretta was the first female singer in the exclusive, men’s only Northwestern University WAA Mu show when she was a freshman. She completed her college career at Boston College.

In addition to raising three children, Lauretta had a successful career as a fashion consultant for Sears, Roebuck and Company, and she began the Sears Charm School for young ladies. She was well known for her beauty and vivaciousness and was a television personality with WGN-TV as well as a host on WBBM radio. Her broadcast guests featured personalities including Vincent Price, Ted Turner, and an entertaining interview with Tiny Tim. Lauretta was most recently a residential real estate broker in the River Forest and Oak Park areas. She was an active volunteer with the Infant Welfare Society in Oak Park, Catholic Charities of Chicago, and she was a member of the Lyric Opera Guild of Chicago. She loved music, boating, golf, fishing weekends in Lake Geneva, and time with her family.

Lauretta Schultz Regan Darre is survived by her husband, Kenneth; children, John (Flicka) Regan, Nancy Regan Macintosh, and Laurie Regan Chase; grandchildren, Katherine Regan Gupman, Christopher and Jillian Regan, and Allison, Erin, Mollie and Cameron Macintosh; and her great-grandchildren, Sophie, Damien and Anika Gupman. Services were held at St. Luke’s in River Forest on Feb. 18. Memorials to the Greater Illinois Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association, 8430 W. Bryn Mawr, Suite 800 in Chicago, 60631 are appreciated.
