The Friars took first at the Homewood-Flossmoor Pentathlon last week for the first time since 2005. Fenwick nudged out Neuqua Valley and Stagg for the top spot.

Bryce Peters, Matt Farmer, Jimmy Mullen, Justin White, Matt Bresnahan, Tommy McGuire, Viken Huening and Dan Kelly all played in the top 20 as far as points.

Peters won the 100 butterfly (56.34 seconds), placed second in the 100 backstroke (57.12) and finished third in the 100 freestyle (50.79), the 100 breaststroke (1:05.62) and the 200 individual medley (2:04.29).

“I am happy with the win,” said Fenwick coach Luke McGuire. “We have a week left of heavy training before we return to regular practices and two invitationals at Sandburg and Marquette (Schroeder YMCA).”
