The District 97 Board of Education has begun interviewing prospects for its open seat. A total of 19 people have formally requested applications from the district, though more applications are still coming in, officials said.
D97 board members are looking to fill one open seat on the seven-member school board. Former member Jennifer Reddy resigned on Sept. 30. The board has 45 days to appoint a new member. Interviews were scheduled for Oct. 18 and Oct. 21 this week, all taking place in closed session. The board has not yet publicly released the names of prospects and have left open the possibility of scheduling additional interview dates if needed. They’ve slated Nov. 8, one of their fall meeting dates, to appoint a new member.
