The OPRF boys golf team finished 11th as a team at the Class 3A State Meet held at The Den at Fox Creek in Bloomington on Saturday.

Despite wind gusts causing havoc for most of Saturday’s final round, Pat Murphy shot 6-over par to lead the Huskies. Murphy had two birdies on the back nine, but bogied the final three holes. He finished with a final two-round score of 158, besting that of all five of his teammates. Alex Decorrevant (164), Dan Wojtak (173), Joe McKune (176), Pat Cusack (180) and Matt Weintrob (182) also contributed to the finish.

The Huskies advanced to the state meet by placing third as a team at the Homewood-Flossmoor Sectional held at Balmoral Woods Golf Course. The team garnered a total score of 327 to round out third behind Loyola (315) and New Trier (301).

Wojtak led OPRF by carding an 80 on the par 72 course. Others who shot well included Murphy (81), Weintrob (83) and Decorrevant (83).
