Creating KidZ NewZ Newspaper

Kidz Newz Journalism Camp is entering its second session of the summer and there are still spots available for your budding journalist. If your child is in grades 5th – 8th, and enjoys writing stories, going on field trips, or taking photographs – then this camp is a valuable and exciting way to top off the summer!

Camp is held on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m., running from August 1 – 12. Experienced camp staff, comprised of working reporters and journalism students from Oberlin University, bring fresh eyes and enthusiasm to your child’s writing experience.

Camp isn’t just about learning the art of interviewing and honing writing skills; it culminates in kids collaborating on one final project – their very own KidZ NewZ newspaper! News and feature articles, photographs, humor, advice, and comics all written by kids and contained in one spectacular newspaper, which makes a wonderful keepsake for you and your child.
