I was sorry to read that District 200 Board member Jacques Conway was resigning in part to deal with a financial matter involving his River Forest home and other properties that he and his wife own. It’s too bad because it seems like he was doing a good job on the Board.
Mr. Conway is not the only person to resign from his position on a Village board due to personal reasons. I remember that Martha Brock resigned from the Village Board and Jerry Jacobs from District 200. There have been many others.
Our lives are far less certain that we might wish they would be. The company you work for is merged out of existence. The routine physical reveals a cancer. The trip to the beach ends in tragedy. Life is good until a phone call or a letter sends us on a downward spiral, and things are never the same again.
Jacques Conway is one of us. I wish him nothing but the best.
