Sick of sneaking snacks into the Oak Park Public Library? Rejoice!

The big building full of books announced that patrons can begin bringing food inside, starting on June 1. There are a few conditions — no snacks in the quiet areas, no eating while on the computer, no pizza deliveries to public areas (except for prearranged and approved meetings in public meeting rooms) — but otherwise, the library says you can chow down.

Changes may be made in the coming year, depending on how things go.

“We expect this new policy to be both popular and successful, but we will be evaluating it for possible revisions during the first six months,” library Director Dee Brennan said in a press release.
