River Forest residents are invited to a community outreach program to appeal property assessments next week, on Wednesday, June 1 at 7 p.m. at the River Forest Community Center.
Residents have 30 days from the time they received their notice of reassessment to make an appeal. Each property owner should bring a copy of their tax bill to the meeting, where River Forest Assessor Pamela Kende will assist in the appeal process.
If appeals are approved, they will affect the assessment for 2012 taxes.
