The wins continued to pile up for the Fenwick boys water polo team last week as the Friars emerged from the Stevenson Classic on Saturday with four-straight victories. The sweep brought Fenwick’s perfect record to 27-0.

The Friars picked up wins over Lyons, 8-6, New Trier, 16-7, Brother Rice, 12-6, and Naperville Central 7-6.

Matt Farmer scored a total of 10 goals in the tournament for the Friars, including the game-winner in the final minutes against Naperville Central. Goalkeeper Dan Newell had 34 saves in the four games.

“We have a lot of work ahead of us as we prepare for St. Ignatius and Brother Rice this weekend at Catholic League Championships and then Oak Park at Sectionals [after that],” said Fenwick coach Kyle Perry.

Fenwick is the No. 1 seed in the Metro Aquatics Catholic Conference Meet to begin this weekend. The Friars will face the winner of De La Salle vs. Mt. Carmel on Friday night at Fenwick (6:30 p.m.).
