The OPRF boys track and field team’s depth was on display at the Hinsdale Relays on Saturday. The Huskies finished second with 99 points, and broke five records on the day.

In the high jump event, Carl Heinz, Harrison Gay and John Burns combined to finish first (19-feet 10-inches). All three athletes had personal best leaps, including Heinz who topped out at 7-feet.

The Huskies also set meet records in the frosh/soph 4×400, the varsity 4×400, the 4×800, and the 4×100.

Glen Lawrence, Evan Fisher, Bryan Johnson and Dan Brennan finished first in the varsity 4×400 with a time of 3:23.2. The 4×800 team of Brendan Donley, Grant McMillan, Sam Fourman and Eunhwan Yoo won the event in 8:00.2.

Lyons Township finished first in the meet with 145 points, while Hinsdale Central rounded out third.

In the outdoor opener against Fenwick and Morton at Concordia University Chicago last week, the coaches decided not to score the meet. “We used it more as a senior presentation day than anything,” said OPRF head coach Tim Hasso. “It’s a bit of a mismatch and we wanted to just get the seedings for the dual meets.”
