The Friars won their own sectional (299 points) and advanced several swimmers to the IHSA State Meet.
Eric Bell led Fenwick by winning both the 50-yard freestyle (21.6 seconds) and the 100-yard backstroke (52.63 seconds). Bell edged out fellow senior Ryan Greenway in the 50 free. Greenway qualified for state with a time of 21.82 seconds.
Connor Brown and Viken Huening finished first and second respectively in the 100-yard freestyle. Brown finished in 46.93 seconds, while Huening touched the wall at 47.73 seconds.
Fenwick swept the relay events, taking the medley in 1:37.84, the 200-yard free in 1:26.08 and the 400-free in 3:12.31.

The Fenwick girls basketball team won its 16th-straight regional title last week by toppling Hoffman Estates 50-43.
The Friars, who advanced to play fourth-seeded Proviso East (28-2) in the York Sectional semifinal last night (after deadline), were led by Sarah Williams and Kathleen Roche. Both players finished with 11 points apiece.
The OPRF hockey team posted two wins in the playoffs last week. The Huskies downed Buffalo Grove 3-2 on Saturday and New Trier White 6-3 on Thursday.
The Huskies came back to beat New Trier after being down 3-0. Dan Javor and Daniel Shinsako scored two goals apiece in that win, while Tyler Haas and Ryan Newman also scored. Newman scored the game-winner against Buffalo Grove.
