OPRF swimming

The Huskies finished third (247 points) at the West Suburban (Silver) Conference Swim Meet held at York on Saturday.

Kyle Patnode and Ben Lewis took home first place in their respective events. Patnode finished first in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 54.50 seconds, while Ben won the diving competition with a score of 421.55.

Other top finishers for OPRF included Nikita Bondarenko (500 free, second, 4:56.93) and Luke O’Connell (100 breaststroke, second, 1:02.48).

Fenwick swimming

The Friars finished fourth (329) at the Metro Catholic Aquatics Conference Meet.

Connor Brown won the 100 freestyle with a time of 48.03 seconds, while Ryan Greenway finished second in the 50 freestyle in 22.37 seconds. The 400 freestyle relay team of Greenway, Brown, Eric Bell and Matt Bresnahan finished second in 3:17.39.

Fenwick wrestling

Matt Garelli, Graham Joss and Steve Sreniawski advanced out of the York Regional on Saturday. Garelli won the 103-pound weight division bout with a 7-5 decision over OPRF’s Linear Vining. Joss finished second at 152 pounds, as did Sreniawksi at 215 pounds.
