Catherine Kalchbrenner, 86, a resident of Oak Park for over 50 years, died at home on Jan. 17, 2011. Born in Chicago on Jan. 30, 1924, the youngest of five children, to Martin and Johanna Puss, she was married for 61 years to the late Walter Kalchbrenner.
She is survived by her children, James (Vivian), Kathleen (Eric) Roehl, Richard, and Joseph (Barbara); her grandchildren, Aaron and Marc Roehl and James Jr. (Amanda), Kristen (James) Mann, Joseph Jr. and Rachel Kalchbrenner; her great-grandchildren, Mitchell, Bradley, Christopher and Matthew Roehl and Carter and Avery Kalchbrenner; and her sister, Anna Puss.
A private memorial service is planned for June.
