Residents woke up to a thick blanket of snow covering Oak Park and River Forest, with snow still falling Wednesday morning. Major streets were mostly clear and passable but intersections, alleys and side streets are still treacherous for most cars to traverse.
The Village of Oak Park is urging all residents to stay indoors and not attempt to drive until street and weather conditions improve.
