Ensemble Español performs at Dominican

One of Chicago’s most exuberant performances comes from the Ensemble Español Spanish Dance Theatre. The company, founded in 1976, consists of 40 dancers, singers, musicians and guest artists. Ensemble Español brings Hispanic culture to the stage in an exciting fusion of traditional, classical, folkloric and Flamenco dance. Lucky for us, Ensemble Español is performing at Dominican University’s Lund Auditorium, 7900 W. Division, this Saturday, Jan. 29 at 7:30 p.m.

Animal Care League and Downtown Oak Park present Be My Furry Valentine

Valentine’s Day is all about sharing love and affection. Why not celebrate the holiday with our furry friends in mind. Animal Care League and Downtown Oak Park have paired up to share the spirit of the holiday with the animals in our community. Pet owners are invited to submit a color photo of their pet along with a caption describing why their pet is their valentine. Winner of the grand prize will be awarded a Pet Portrait, courtesy of photographer Michelle Lytle. Animal Care League also invites you to send a valentine to their adoptable animals. Valentines can be dropped off at any participating Downtown Oak Park business between now and Valentine’s Day. Donations to the Animal Care League will help with repairs resulting from a recent fire.
