The Fenwick girls basketball team put nearly 50 points between it and two East Suburban Catholic Conference opponents last week.
The Friars pushed their conference record to 5-0 with an 86-38 upending of Joliet Catholic on Jan. 19, followed by a 73-27 shellacking of St. Viator on Saturday afternoon.
Sarah Williams led in the win over Joliet Catholic, scoring 14 points while Kathleen Roche added 13.
Kyra Navarrete took the reigns in the win over St. Viator. Navarrete finished with a double-double of 19 points and 10 rebounds. Williams chipped in 12 points in that win.
The Friars (18-2 overall), who haven’t lost an ESCC contest since the 2006-’07 season, are vying for their 17th-straight conference title. Likely to be Fenwick’s biggest challenge in the conference is Marian Catholic (5-0). The Friars take on the Spartans on Tuesday.
Fenwick travels to Nazareth today (Wed., Jan. 26) and play two games in two days on Saturday at Lake Zurich.
