Thankfully another holiday season is winding down. I look forward to this season of giving and reflection, but not so much the All-American pastime of consumption. I’m hardly innocent here: I spent my share of time in the stores with my fellow man. And maybe that feels okay – for the short term – after being knocked around in a rough economy.

But the past and present experiences of the New Reality are on my mind.  And that’s why I signed up for the No Impact Project.  Okay, maybe the first week of January in the Upper Midwest probably ain’t the ideal time to swear off the car and hop on the bike – but there are other ways to get off to a good start in 2011.

Happy New Year!
