For the second time in two months, a victim was pushed onto the tracks at a CTA Green Line station.
A man was waiting for a train just after midnight, Dec. 13, at the Green Line’s Oak Park stop when he allegedly was pushed off the platform by a 35- to 40-year old man wearing a green army coat.
The victim broke his ankle.
The suspect was described as a black man between 5-feet-9 and 6 feet tall with a medium build. Police are investigating.
Retail theft
Marcell Fields of Chicago, 39, was arrested for retail theft, the afternoon of Dec. 14, at Jewel, 7525 W. Lake in River Forest. She allegedly took paper towels, batteries, laundry detergent and a pineapple.
Kenneth B. Perry of Rockford, 42, was arrested for retail theft by River Forest police, the morning of Dec. 18, at the intersection of Madison Street and Home Avenue in Oak Park. He allegedly stole goods from Osco, 7525 W. Lake in River Forest, and then crashed his car at the intersection of Madison and Home after he was chased.
Battery to a police officer
Hussain D. Alenazi, 28, was arrested for battery to a police officer and criminal trespassing, the morning of Dec. 17, at Dominican University, 7900 W. Division in River Forest.
He had allegedly been suspended from Dominican for confronting a professor at home about a failing grade but refused to leave campus when asked. As he was being escorted out, he “put his hand on the shoulder of one of the officers,” in an “unfriendly” way according to River Forest Police Sgt. Mike Thornley.
Resisting arrest
Chavadas Smith of Oak Park, 22, was arrested early, the morning of Dec. 15, on the 800 block of North Cuyler in Oak Park, where he was charged with resisting a peace officer, not having a driver’s license, speeding, and driving with only one headlight.
Battery
James C. Tucker of River Forest, 61, was arrested for battery and criminal damage to a vehicle, the afternoon of Dec. 17, on the 1200 block of Jackson in River Forest. He allegedly kicked a woman’s car that was blocking his driveway, then allegedly pushed her to the ground when she confronted him, according to the police summary. She was reportedly taken to the hospital with a wrist injury
Drug dealing
Antonio D. Hall of Chicago, 33, was arrested, the morning of Dec. 17, at the Maybrook Courthouse and charged with delivery of a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a school, unlawful delivery of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of a controlled substance.
DUI
Juan L. Abad, 29, was arrested for DUI , the morning of Dec. 19, at the intersection of Franklin Avenue and North Avenue in River Forest. His passenger, Sandy Murillo, 21, was charged with resisting arrest and allowing a person under the influence of alcohol to drive.
Stefan Meier of River Forest, 18, was arrested for DUI and unlawful possession of cannabis, the morning of Dec. 19, on the 100 block of North Humphrey Avenue in Oak Park.
Robbery
A victim was approached by five men, the night of Dec. 15, at the intersection of Washington and Cuyler in Oak Park, who began punching him in the face. They took the victim’s cell phone and cash and drove away in a gold Pontiac van.
A 25- to 35-year-old man approached a woman from behind on the 400 block of North Harvey, the afternoon of Dec. 15, and shouted, “Lay down!” The victim then threw her purse to the ground, which the man snatched and ran away southbound on Harvey.
These items were obtained from police reports filed by the Oak Park and River Forest police departments from Dec. 13 to Dec. 20. Not all incidents that occurred are listed. Anyone named in reports has only been charged with a crime and cases have not yet been adjudicated.
