OPRF wrestling

The Huskies (5-3, 1-0) went 1-2 at the Glenbard North quad on Saturday, falling to the host 52-12 and West Aurora 51-19 before securing a 37-21 win over Neuqua Valley.

Against top-ranked Glenbard North, Chirino Watson won at 135 pounds, while Nate Crain (140) and Sam Brooks (171) also scored victories.

The Huskies won 9-of-12 bouts against Neuqua Valley, including Darius Henry (112), Cameron Harris (119), Donald Hicks (125), Colin Rogers (130) and Jake O’Mara (135).

OPRF travels into Chicago to take on Mt. Carmel on Thursday (6 p.m.).

Fenwick hockey

The Friars went 3-1 at the National Invitational Scholastic Showcase held in Jamestown, N.Y. Fenwick racked up victories over DeMatha (Md.), 8-1, Mt. Lebanon (Pa.), 5-0, and Culver (Ind.), 3-2, before falling 7-2 to Holy Ghost Prep (Pa.).

The Friars play three Chicago Catholic Hockey League games this week, beginning with Marist on Thursday. On Saturday, they take on Providence and Sunday St. Ignatius.

Fenwick wrestling

The Friars went 1-2 on Saturday in a quad meet, falling to Addison Trail, 44-29, Lake Park, 67-6, before edging Oak Lawn, 37-33.

Matt Garelli won all six of his matches at 112 pounds for the Friars (6-6), who had four wrestlers out due to SAT testing and two out with injuries.
