Become a world traveler in just one day at Oak Park’s WinterFest
Downtown Oak Park is hosting its fourth annual WinterFest this Saturday, Dec. 4. Enjoy food and live entertainment from around the world with none of the jet lag. The festival also serves up a heaping bowl of winter activities from a visit by Old St. Nick to an ice sculpture demonstration.
The festivities run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday between Harlem and Marion on Lake and North Boulevard.
Join Animal Care League in celebrating its 25th Annual Holiday Bazaar
A quarter-decade has turned the Animal Care League’s Bazaar – baked goods, live music and the famous basket raffle — into a local holiday tradition. Be sure to bring the pets and kids for photos with Santa on Saturday, Dec. 4 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. All proceeds and donations will help support the daily activities of the animal shelter.
The Holiday Bazaar, located at 809 S. Oak Park Ave., is held on Friday, Dec. 3 from 3 to 9 p.m. and on Saturday, Dec. 4 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Wassail your way down Madison Street for the Forest Park Holiday Walk
Window-shopping takes a twist in Forest Park during the Annual Madison Street Holiday Walk this Friday, Dec. 3 from 6 to 9 p.m. Retail windows come alive with creative characters and displays. Horse-drawn sleigh rides, a marshmallow roast and Santa are all part of the festivities. To add to the holiday cheer, several retailers are holding open houses featuring some spectacular sales.
