Oak Parker Marché Smith, a senior guard for Concordia University Chicago’s women’s basketball team, was named a 2010-11 preseason All-American by www.d3hoops.com last week.

Smith, who averaged 19.2 points per game last season, was selected to the Fourth Team. The listing consists of 25 Division III players divided into first, second, third and fourth teams and an honorable mention.

Previously, Smith was named the Central Region Rookie of the Year in 2008, a first-team All-Central Region in 2009 and second-team All-Central Region last spring by the organization. She is one of three players representing the Central Region on this year’s preseason list.

Smith enters her final season already holding Concordia’s records for most points in a game (42), season (502) and career (1,361).

“Marché is an amazing player who has great individual ability but is also a consummate team player,” said Concordia head coach Joshua Steffen. “She has helped our program make huge strides in the last few years, and I am looking forward to seeing what she will do in her final season.”
