Are you 55+ and looking for volunteer opportunities in West Suburban Cook and Southern DuPage Counties?  The RSVP Program, housed at Triton College, is an amazing resource for volunteers and non-profit organizations. RSVP offers one-time, short-term and long-term volunteer opportunities.  The RSVP program has more than 500 active volunteers in the program, working with more than 100 partner agencies.  The RSVP program in our area has been serving the community for nearly 30 years. It is a part of the nationwide Senior Corps, which is overseen by the Corporation for National and Community Service. I recently met with director Kay Frey and Volunteer Coordinator Minerva McLaren, and was so impressed with the scope of services they provide to the community.

The RSVP program does a great job recognizing and rewarding its volunteers.  Depending on the type of volunteer work you do through RSVP, you may be eligible to attend the popular volunteer recognition luncheon and receive reimbursement for transportation or meals.

Enrolling as an RSVP Volunteer is easy. Just call the RSVP Office at (708)456-0300×3835 and request a packet of information and an application form. After you return your application, you will have an interview with an RSVP staff member, so you can learn more about the RSVP program, and so they can match you with a volunteer opportunity that matches your areas of interest and schedule availability.
