Legendary high school girls basketball coach Dave Power will go for his 800th career victory Tuesday night against Niles North at Fenwick, 505 W. Washington Blvd. (7:30 p.m.).

Power (799-206) has coached at the high school level for 34 years, the last 19 at Fenwick. He’s coached the Friars to two state titles so far. In 1986 he coached Immaculate Heart of Mary to a state title.

Fenwick’s next victory will put Power alongside Marshall coach Dorothy Gaters as the only high school girls basketball coaches in the state with 800 wins or more.
