The Joffrey Ballet’s annual performance of The Nutcracker this year will have an Oak Park flavor.
Continuing its tradition of allowing Chicago area youth to perform, this year’s performers include the Oak Park and River Forest Children’s Choir. The show runs from Dec. 10-26 at Chicago’s Auditorium Theatre of Roosevelt University. The Chicago Sinfonietta will perform the score. The youth will perform the choral parts from Tchaikovsky’s “snow scene.” The choirs will also perform seasonal selections before the show and during intermissions in the theatre’s main lobby.
