While OPRF’s entire boys golf team missed making the cut by just a few strokes at the Mt. Carmel Sectional on Monday, three players shot well enough to advance on to the Class 3A State Tournament.

Alex Decorrevont shot a 74 at Glenwoodie Golf Club in Glenwood, while Eric Cybulski and Joe McKune both finished with 78s and advanced on after competing in a six-man playoff for the last four spots.

The Huskies finished fourth as a team with a final score of 312. New Trier won the sectional with a 302. OPRF’s cross-town rival Fenwick finished eighth overall and did not advance a player to state.

The Class 3A State Tournament begins Friday at The Den at Fox Creek Golf Course in Bloomington.
