Oak Park hosted its first ever flash mob last Saturday in conjunction with the 5-day arts festival, ArtRageous! Oak Park.
What’s a flash mob you ask? According to Winifred Haun & Dancers a flash mob is a free dance event where 50 to 100 dancers appear in a public space and perform a dance.
The dance was performed on the sidewalk near the Hemingway Museum on North Oak Park Avenue at about 11 a.m. last Saturday. A second performance was held near the plaza of the main branch of the Oak Park Public Library on Lake Street. The sound design for the flash mob featured music by Stevie Wonder and George Crumb.
