The Friars won their third consecutive title at the Jacobs Invitational on Saturday. Fenwick edged Jacobs and Maine South to finish with 42 points to lead the eight-team field.

Fenwick sealed the victory by taking 2 of 3 championship matches. Audrey Kiefer and Christina Janda defeated Jacobs 6-3, 6-3 in doubles action. Catherine Joss and Julia Mastrangeli won at No. 2 doubles with a hard-fought 1-6, 6-3, (10-7) victory.

Earlier in the week, the Friars lost a competitive dual meet to York. Fenwick’s Mia Sullivan won a handy 6-3, 6-1 decision over York’s No. 2 Shelby Kost, and although York carried both doubles matches, the Friars finished respectable.

Janda and Kiefer jumped out to a 4-1 lead, but ended in a 7-5, 6-2 loss at No. 1, and Joss and Mastrangeli were practically even with York in a 3-6, 6-2, 7-6 (8-6) loss.
