As of 5:05 p.m., power was restored to all 1,511 customers who were in the dark after an unexplained outage around 3:45 p.m., according to a ComEd spokeswoman.

The cause of the power outage was still under investigation as of 5:15 p.m., she added.


An outage at around 3:45 p.m., today has knocked out power for 1,511 Oak Parkers around town. But when the juice might come back is still up in the air.

The cause of the outage was unknown as of 4:00 p..m., according to ComEd spokesman Tony Hernandez. The area affected is bordered by South Boulevard, Harrison, Wesley and Maple. He said crews were currently on the scene, working to remedy the problem, but he could not say when the work would be finished.

“We do have individual crews on site working feverishly to restore power”, Hernandez said.
