A presentation by the administration at the two school districts to their respective boards doesn’t often yield itself to a lot of humor; that is beyond the friendly chatter taking place during presentations of budgets and reports.

But Chris Jasculca, the communications director at Oak Park’s elementary school district, couldn’t help himself in lightening the mood at the Sept. 14 board meeting. During a review of the district’s strategic plan, Jasculca noticed that he and two of the four administrators at the table were wearing purple; the board secretary also sported the color.

“Well, clearly this half of the table got the dress code this evening and this half did not,” he said, sparking laughter from the table and audience.

As a result, I couldn’t help but to capture the moment in a photo with my little Canon camera.

Smile.
