Steve Youngblood, 44, of Oak Park, died at his home on July 27, 2010, after a long battle with kidney cancer. A resident of Oak Park for the past 11 years, he resided in the Chicago area for more than 20 years. Born in Danville and reared in Warren County, Ind., he graduated from Warren Central Elementary and Seeger Memorial High School. A graduate of Purdue University, he enjoyed working for Life Fitness in Schiller Park for the past four years, and his family is grateful for their support.

Mr. Youngblood is survived by his mother, Pat (Jim) Zemla; his father, Carl (Sue) Youngblood; his sisters, Tonia (Jerry) Matthews, Kimberli Youngblood and Victoria (Brett) Slinker; his half-brother, Josh Youngblood; and his half-sister, Amanda (Brian) Spouse. He leaves behind many friends, including Bill Granzo, David Plotrick, Sharon Granzo, and many nieces and nephews.

In memory, donations may be sent to the Cancer Research Foundation (cancerresearchfdn.org), 135 S. LaSalle St., Suite 3708, Chicago 60603, or the American Cancer Society (cancer.org). A celebration of his life is planned for this fall.
