Ann Elizabeth Douglas, 86, of River Forest, died on Aug. 22, 2010. She was the daughter of Cornelia Tinsley who was the daughter of the late mayor of Cartersville, Ga. Born in Flextile, Ga., she spent her early years in Cartersville before her family moved to the Chicago area, finally settling in Oak Park, where she moved next door to her future husband, Ken Douglas.
For many years Mrs. Douglas was very active with the Oak Park and River Forest Infant Welfare Society and the West Suburban Hospital Auxiliary.
Ann Douglas is survived by her daughter, Connie (Don) Doran and son, Andrew (Sally) Douglas; and her grandchildren, Paula and Charles Douglas. She was preceded in death by Kenneth J. Douglas (former chairman and CEO of Dean Foods).
A memorial service will be held at First Presbyterian Church of River Forest, 7551 Quick Ave., River Forest, at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 4.
