In regards to the letter written by Patti Marino, [Williams’ crass language inappropriate, Viewpoints, June 16], wake up!

First off, saying “grow a pair” is hardly inappropriate, unless when I woke up this morning it was again 1930. Saying “grow a pair” is as appropriate as, say, allowing women to walk next to their husbands and not three steps behind. Second, maybe this “language” you’re so appalled by is what parents need to hear to get them to wake up and realize that they are the parents, and to stop allowing their children to govern and make the rules. Which, as a newer resident to the Oak Park and River Forest area, I see is often (but not always) the case.

Hey Patti, grow a pair and get over it!
