I find it amusing that the police take almost a month to remove an apparently abandoned car from a major street when they can remove a small child’s bicycle from well onto private property in less than five minutes. [Mysterious car mars Oak Park Ave., Inside Report, April 21] The bicycle was not bothering anybody.

Automobiles have VIN (vehicle identification numbers) and this one had license plates. Police departments across the nation are supposed to be in communication. Was any attempt made to determine that this car had been stolen so that it could be returned to its owner?
