Deloris McMullin, 81, Secretary of the 19th Century Club, president of the Lowell Club

Deloris Jeanne McMullin (nee Minniear), 81, died peacefully at the Rainbow Hospice Ark in Park Ridge on May 12, 2010 following an extended illness. Born on Aug. 7, 1928 in Anderson, Ind., she was the daughter of Herbert and Reba (Eley) Minniear.

She graduated from Lexington Theological Seminary where she met her husband, David, to whom she was married for 55 years. Together they served in churches in Little Rock and Chicago, including the Jackson Boulevard Christian Church. She was also a member and former president of the Lowell Club in Oak Park and current secretary of the 19th Century Club.

Deloris McMullin is survived by her husband, David; her children, Kevin (Karen Kaufman) and Michelle (Dr. Kathryn Hailer); her siblings, June Jarrett (Floyd), Billie Moore (J.D.), and Joe Minniear; and her granddaughter, Rowan McMullin. She was preceded in death by her sister, Alice Zerek.

Sarah Sheppard, 90, Nurse

Sarah Sheppard (nee Byrne), 90, of LaGrange Park, died on May 14, 2010 at LaGrange Memorial Hospital. Born in Killybegs, Donegal, Ireland on June 26, 1919, she became a nurse.

She is survived by her husband, Victor; her children, Rodney (“Pat”) and Pamela; her sisters, Teresa Keeney, Anne Wade, and Peggy Caldwell; her grandchildren, Zoë and Granger; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Bridget (nee Heena) Byrne, and her sister, Teresa Keeney.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 19 from 8:30-9 a.m., with a funeral Mass celebrated at St. Louise de
Marillac Church at 9:30 a.m., followed by interment at Queen of Heaven Cemetery.
