A lot of residents complain about how the Village of Oak Park spends (or misspends) taxpayer dollars. So we couldn’t help noticing the heavy cement planters along Oak Park Avenue and Downtown Oak Park, which currently sport bright yellow daffodils, purple columbine, pansies, ornamental grasses and pussywillow branches.
We’re not sure all taxpayers agree, but we think it’s money well spent.
Now if the village could just fix the ornamental street lamps on The Avenue that stay lit all day long.
