The District 97 Board of Education is expected to hire a search firm this week to conduct the search for its next superintendent.
The board met with three firms last week, including Highland Park-based School Exec Connect, which just wrapped up the search for a superintendent at Oak Park and River Forest High School. The other two firms were Glenview-based Hazard, Young, Attea & Associates and Proact Search, based out of Wilmette.
Rance Clouser, Dist. 97 board member and co-chair of its executive search committee, said the board will first choose its firm and then discuss whether to have an open or closed process. OPRF’s search that yielded Steven Isoye, current principal of Maine East High School in Park Ridge, was closed until their selection was formally announced Tuesday.
Clouser, though, said that stakeholders in Dist. 97 will have an opportunity to give their input about the next superintendent. All three firms, he added, said that they can conduct either an open or closed search. The district would like to have a person chosen by the fall, Clouser said. If that doesn’t happen, the board will conduct a longer search and likely install an interim for the 2010-2011 school year.
