On a recent Friday night, I took my twin 6-year-old boys to the Oak Park and River Forest High School field house to watch their very first wrestling match.

In one of the first matches that we saw, an OPRF junior varsity wrestler lost. As he was coming off the mat, one of his coaches screamed and berated him for several seconds. This was in full view of the many fans in attendance. I was stunned and had a hard time explaining the outburst to my children. Outside of Woody Hayes punching an opposing player, I have never seen a coach behave so poorly.

The OPRF Athletic Department and school officials should not tolerate such abuse of a student.
