Cook County weeps. How long can we endure the bankruptcies, foreclosures, unemployment, inadequate health care, arbitrary tax increases and shoddy services? How many stories of nepotism, insider profiteering and arrogance can we take from the Cook County board? Have we given up hope that the board could ever be a force that really works for the people?
We need a new kind of politician, people who aren’t in it for their own egos or their own pocketbooks. We need someone who is driven by a fierce desire to make the County a better place, someone who just can’t stand to sit by and let the dismal status quo go unchallenged. Vote 113 for Ade Onayemi for Cook County commissioner on Feb. 2. They won’t know what hit them.
