The Chicago Sun-Times, Dec. 28, published a list of the largest Catholic high schools and elementary schools in Cook and Lake counties. Figures came from the Archdiocese of Chicago’s Office of Catholic Schools. Fenwick was No. 7 among high schools with an enrollment of 1,197. Loyola Academy in Wilmette was No. 1 with 2,094 students. St. Ignatius came in No. 6 with 1,360.
Ascension was the only local Catholic elementary school to crack the top 30. They came in at No. 27 with 479 students. Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Glenview was far and away the largest with 950 students.
