I have heard a lot of talk about “family values,” and I realized that I did not know a single family value.

When I asked my conservative brother what a family value might be, he said that he was against abortion and against big government. I changed my question to “What are you in favor of, not what are you against?” I gave him an example of what I thought would be a family value. I said that I was in favor of children being raised by two parents who can care for them and provide whatever they could for them.

He did not respond, but the readers of Wednesday Journal might be able to provide better answers. What are family values?
