An Oak Park man was charged with burglary on Monday after he allegedly forced open a sliding glass door at the Oak Park Public Library, 834 Lake.

John Stigailo, 59, of 914 North Blvd., was arrested just after 1 a.m. on Sept. 21. He is currently being held in Cook County jail on $2,500 bond, awaiting a court date Friday morning, Oct. 2.

Commander Len Jorgensen said Oak Park police have arrested Stigailo in the past, including for possession of burglary tools. In January 2006, Stigailo, then of the 700 block of Ontario Street, was charged with allegedly choking an Oak Park juvenile.
