Nola’s Cup, the quaint and comfortable coffee shop on Oak Park Avenue at Adams, will close its doors for good July 13.
A letter posted on the door informs the 4-year-old business’ patrons of the news, and a poster for realtor John Spillane informs passers-by that the first-floor corner commercial condo space is for sale.
Manager Michael Natale said Nola’s Cup owners Jennifer O’Heira or William R. Spillane would comment later.
William Spillane purchased the condo space in 2004 from Van Oak LLC, owned by Daniel Spillane, and renovated the space. A posting on John Spillane’s Web site lists the commercial condo space in the vintage 87-year-old brick building at 800 S. Oak Park Ave. for $310,000.
Debbie Becker, who lives around the corner from Nola’s Cup, has been going there since it opened.
“I’m deeply saddened,” she said. “Now Southtown Oak Park’s not going to have a coffee shop anymore.”
