Oak Park was smart in bonding with Chicago in the recent court case involving the gun ban. [Appeals court upholds OP gun ban, news, June 3] Not surprising, the all-powerful political Daley machine swayed the court to continue the ban.
However, I wonder – with the apparent increase in crimes in Oak Park and the threat or use of handguns – how effective the ban really is. Also I wonder, if a vote were taken today, how voters would look at the ban.
