At Scoville Park on Sunday, you’ll find Wednesday Journal staff members and senior watchdog Mr. Big at Booth #5. Stop by, tell us your thoughts, and pick up a free packet of flower or vegetable seeds.
We’ll be part of A Day in Our Village, Oak Park’s annual community festival, where more than 150 groups – cultural, civic, charitable, religious, business – will fill the park from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
This is where you’ll get to meet the people who run Friends of OP Dogs, the Historic Preservation Committee, and the Newcomers Club. You’ll find where to go for workouts, vaccines, car sharing, volunteering and much more.
You’ll also find community festivities at Rehm Park, too, and a shuttle between the two parks. At Rehm Park, on Garfield Street and East Avenue, there will be an inflatable obstacle course, a giant trampoline, penny carnival games, tennis lessons, and chances to swim in the Rehm pool.
Music at Scoville Park’s center stage will range from ska to neo soul to jazz to country rock. Food options on the adjacent court of the library plaza will range from Indian to ribs.
Bike parking will be at the west end of the tennis courts at Scoville Park.
Public restrooms will be near the tennis courts.
