How much is too much?

More than $300,000 for an old war memorial repair? [Oak Park park board OKs Scoville war memorial repairs, news, April 29] Old memorials are supposed to look old! It doesn’t look dangerous to me. I wonder how much it originally cost to erect?

Maybe I am being too critical and should congratulate the park board on trying to keep things nice. They are doing a nice job on Longfellow and Fox playgrounds! We do have nice parks here!
