Victor Mazzeo, 88, Wordsmith who worked for Worldbook, loved crosswords puzzles

Victor Anthony Mazzeo, 88, a longtime resident of Oak Park, died on the morning of April 26, 2009. A longtime employee of Worldbook, Inc. and an adjunct professor of English at Triton College, he was a wordsmith at heart and a crossword puzzle aficionado. He devoted his life to Jesus Christ and will be missed by his family, friends and co-workers.

Victor Mazzeo was the husband of Helen for 35 years; father of Victor, Andrew, and Celestine (Tina); brother of the late Lee Mancuso; and brother-in-law and uncle to many.

Visitation was held on April 29 at Drechsler, Brown & Williams Funeral Home. Funeral Mass was celebrated on April 30 at St. Edmund Church. Interment was private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or a charity of your choice.
