Anna Shepard, 88, Soloist in area houses of worship
Anna Shepard (Pawelski) of Oak Park, 88, a long-time soloist in Chicago area churches and synagogues, died on Dec. 30, 2008 at West Suburban Hospital, Oak Park, of complications from knee surgery. She was the wife of Lyman Shepard, well-known Frank Lloyd Wright speaker and architectural lecturer.
Mrs. Shepard was a member of First Baptist Church of Oak Park, Chi Sigma cultural group, a singer in McDowell Artists productions, and an interpreter for the Frank Lloyd Wright Preservation Trust for 15 years as well as a tour guide of the Historic Wright Walk and Unity Temple.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Lyman; her son Drake (Beverly), and two grandsons.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Sat., Jan. 31, at First Baptist Church of Oak Park, 820 Ontario (at Oak Park Ave.), followed by a reception. Burial of ashes will be at Mt. Emblem Cemetery, Elmhurst.
